HOPE – inspiring? destructive?

What do you do when all hope is gone? … she kept hoping, and doing, and believing. This is what love can do. The story of a mother who lives day by day, hoping and believing that her daughter will come back one day.

I love these types of stories. They are inspirational, fills me with hope, gives me confidence that what I’m going through will have some good outcome. But what if it doesn’t. Because in reality, that happens more often than not. The person dies, the disease comes back, the relationship fails, the deal did not come through. Disappointment makes multiple visits … due to our expectations. When what you wanted, or hoped for, does not come – what do you become?

Thankfully, some people can articulate it a whole lot better than me. If it’s TL; DL (I can’t believe I’m using that shorthand, but there it is) then in summary ….. it’s hard to summarize. Do yourself a favour and listen to the homily, coz I’m gonna miss out on important nuggets. Summary -> Reject expectations, embrace reality, and accept the reality of His will in your life. You don’t know what you are saying ‘Yes’ to when you start out, but you do know WHO you are saying ‘Yes’ to.

And because of all that He has done for us, and we recall and reflect on it especially in this season of Lent, we can trust Him.
